LET MEET YOU?

I Am Johnson Michael Feranmi, from the family of seven children four boys and three girls brought up in Lagos. A student of Lagos state polytechnic, studied computer science ND2 and am into graphic Design and music.

HOW DO YOU FIND YOURSELF DOING GRAPHIC DESIGN WHEN YOUR COURSE OF STUDY IS NOT RELATED TO IT?

Laughing… Graphic is like a gift from God because when I was a kid my dad tells me I always act on any flyers or artwork I see around me and I got inspired by 50Cent artwork, even since then I try put things to practices through the internet. It’s so easy for me to learn fast since it has been part of me.

WHEN DO YOU START DOING GRAPHIC DESIGN PROFESSIONALLY?

I started four years ago

WHAT AS BEING YOUR EXPERIENCE SO FAR?

Talking about that it hasn’t been easy, though to be a man is not a day job. Lots of ups and downs but if you really want to be a successful man you must never give up.

TEEL US THE PEOPLE YOU HAVE WORKED FOR AND THE NEW PROJECT?

I’ve worked for couples of Nigeria artistes in like of Davido, T-Code, Chidinma, Minjin, Jaywon, Oba Gudududu, Dre San, Eva, Lil H, Bobby T, MF Classic etc. and am currently working on an upcoming star album artworks Skillz.

DEFINE GRAPHIC DESIGN IN YOUR OWN WORDS?

WHAT IS YOUR BEST DESIGN EVER SINCE FOUR YEARS AGO?

Hum… Honestly I love all my jobs so much but I fell so much in love with the design I made for Davido

WHAT IS THE PRICE LIST FOR YOUR JOB?

For upcoming stars, single artwork five thousand and album artwork ten thousand. For super stars single artwork is ten thousand and album artwork is twenty thousand.

AM SO SURE THE AWARDS WINNING POP SINGER DAVIDO WILL PAID YOU MORE THEN THAT?

No! It’s just a promotional design; I do some free designs at my leisure time. It’s just for fun and most times I do it to keep myself busy

WHAT IS THE WIDTH AND HEIGHT SIZE FOR PROMO ARTWORK AND POSTER?

We have various sizes for artworks, it’s depending on what the client want but what’s so important is resolution, every artworks should have 300 resolution.

WHAT ARE YOUR BEST COLOR AND FONTS?

Disco deck fonts and my color wow… Red because it’s makes my jobs look cool

DO YOU HAVE PEOPLE THAT WORK UNDER YOU?

Yes, I have a lot of students that I work with and they are doing great, like HBK, ABN, AFFORDABLE, YMG, TIMI, MAGIX PIC, etc.

WHAT ELSE DO YOU DO APART FROM GRAPHIC DESIGN?

I sing, but I spend more time on graphics than anything

WHERE DO YOU PICTURE YOURSELF IN FIVE YEARS?

I picture myself as a hall of fame

Passion for the work

WHAT ELSE DO YOU WANT US TO KNOW ABOUT GRAPHIC DESIGN APART FROM WIDTH AND RESOLUTION?

Editing, color and text combinations

LET’S TALK ABOUT ANIMATION AND CARTOON GRAPHIC, HOW DO YOU DEVELOP PLUGINS?

Actually we make use of plugins but not all the graphic needed plugins. I make animation and cartoon on adobe Photoshop cs2, cs4, cs5, etc. without applying any plugins and to be good in your profession you also need to make research. Because graphic is what we live with.

WE HEARD ABOUT ADOBE CS2 TO CS6 DO YOU THINK IS BETTER THEN PHOTOSHOP 9 TO 12 VERSIONS?

They only have little different, for example most of my job I make use of adobe Photoshop cs2. Just the new versions have new features that can help and make graphic looks more perfect

HOW DO YOU RELAX

I relax when I don’t work, mostly during day time because I love making graphics midnight
