Drake Being Sued For 200K By Concert Promoter For Canceled Performances

America and awards winning rapper Drake as being sued again. This time for over $200,000 by a Chicago promoter over canceled shows.

SPIN is reporting that court documents filed Tuesday (December 10th), claim that Drake canceled two agreed-upon performances, increased agreed-upon prices, and that a third party spent half of the money on a completely unrelated event. Drake told the concert promoter “We changed the price because our value went up."
The lawsuit, filed by Status Entertainment, alleges that drake agreed to the show at an asking price of $250,000, $100,000 of which they transferred over, but when the concert was canceled drake allegedly failed to return the funds claiming that another member of the camp spent it on a separate event.

The charges include breach of contract, conversion, quantum meruit, unjust enrichment fraud, and violations of the Illinois Consumer Fraud and Deceptive Business Practices Act.

Status is seeking $202,800 for court costs, interest, and whatever the judge feels is fair for “disgorgement of profits.” Concert promoters aren’t the only people coming at the Canadian rap sensation in court.
