PMAN asks broadcasters not to pay royalty to Nigerian musicians

 

 The Performing Musician Association of Nigeria, PMAN have told broadcasters not to pay musicians.

The body asked Broadcasting Organisation of Nigeria, BON, and Independent Broadcasters Association of Nigeria, IBAN not to pay royalties to any artists through the Copyright Society of Nigeria, COSON.

According to PMAN is to allow the Nigerian Copyright Commission, NCC, has register the Musical Copyright Society of Nigeria, MCSN, so that COSON does not have monopoly in paying royalties to musicians
BON/IBAN have been having issues with COSON over payment of royalty to musicians for months.
